Art Appreciation Afternoon

Was there a time when you would feel all at sea when standing in front of a piece of art? How about a time when you would struggle to find a connection with what you are seeing? Don’t worry, you are not alone. Regardless of background in art, we’ve all been there.

About the event

THIS IS THE SECOND INSTALLMENT FOR A SERIES OF EVENTS CREATED FOR ART LOVERS TO COME TOGETHER Not to be confused as an art exhibition or an art history lecture, this event will focus on how art has improved and will continue to improve our quality of life.

Without giving away too much information, participants will get a chance to put aside their preconceived ideas about art and relearn to understand and connect with it through interactive games and discussion. Chris Fussner from New York will also join the group to share an art noob story. The afternoon would not be complete without sharing our insights over light refreshments.

Note: Please wear comfortable clothes as we will be seated on the floor

No need to bring art materials as we will not be drawing or painting

About the facilitator: Aside from her background in gallery work, Pia Mercado spent almost three years in New York city all for the love of art. Specifically, to study Art Business at NYU and gain experience at Chashama, a nonprofit organization supporting artists. She realized early on that whatever she would do with her life would have to be related to art. Currently staying put in her hometown before her next big move this year, she is working as an artist liaison for a contemporary French painter, dealing art on the side and facilitating art events like these.
