As I reflect on the past year, I can’t help but gasp at my own crazy journey. It started in January with a beautiful Wellness Festival I co-organized, Vegan Omfest, which featured some of my favorite teachers and healing modalities all gathered in two amazing, transformative days.

By March, we were in lockdown and I gradually moved my courses online (thank you Zoom). I was in shock, because my schedule till then had me out of the house early and back home late at night EVERY DAY.

April and May ... like an at-home vipassana retreat and Ayahuasca ceremony that lasts for months!

By June, I had done a tremendous amount of letting go from all the time on my hands for introspection and practice. I shaved my head and let go of my old Facebook account, with all the pictures and memories. That was release for me, and a huge energetic shift (hence the Airbender pic I asked my super-talented friend Jason Charles Escalona to do for me).

In October, I launched season one of my podcast (thank you coach Dave Visaya!), which you can catch it on Spotify or here on my website.

Finally, last month, I was reunited with my daughter, whom I had not seen since January.

It was not an easy year, but it was one of the most transformational not only for myself, but also for a lot of people I know. It was a year of deep shadow work for the human race as a whole, where we were asked to question and rethink everything, from institutions and authority figures to our very own core beliefs.

I am excited for 2021.Realistically, the new year will bring just as many challenges, if not more than the past. But those who are doing the inner work are stronger, and can face these new challenges, with an upgraded version of themselves. And those who have not, can still get on board. It’s never too late.

Happy New Year everyone!

You want them to be secure? You have a plan for them? If you don’t do your inner work first, all your plans will be futile.

This year has taught us many lessons, as our shadows rose from the depths of our collective and individual consciousnesses. Our plans were shattered, for some, savings and investments as well.

The best thing you can do for your kids (aside from showing what it looks like to be deeply happy, not just superficially so), is to give them space. Nurture them with unconditional love as they find their way and make their mistakes.

When my eighteen-year old daughter was struggling about a life decision earlier this year, I told her that there were no such things as mistakes, and that whatever decision she made, she could always correct course and would learn something in the process (I did express my preference, which she dismissed, lol).

Teaching your kids to find their own truth – which most likely will be different from yours, dear parent – and think for themselves, is the most priceless gift you can give them (even if it’s easier to just buy them stuff).

But of course, you cannot teach this if you have not done the work yourself.

The past week has been all about cutting energy cords, for my private and group clients, as well as for myself. As we cut cords we are freed from outdated relationships, but also with thinking patterns that we have outgrown (and even old versions of ourselves).

When you do the inner work, you are preparing the terrain for beautiful seeds to grow. Expect to be amazed, and for your kids amaze you!

Here are some tips you can implement today, as part of your energetic hygiene routine:

1. Unfollow (or snooze) the whiners, complainers, blamers on your social media feed. Also include those stuck in victim/scarcity mentality.

2. Focus your attention on what brings you more joy, what lights you up, what inspires you, on and offline!

3. Take aligned action. Drop into silence and check in with your body regularly for cues that you are on the right path.

Truth: When you take action from a place of guilt or self-judgement, you are imprinting that energy into the act. By keeping your cup full through proper self-care combined with self-inquiry, you are able to serve from a place of abundance and overflow.
